A multitalented keyboardist and vocalist, Mark Adamy delivers performances full of soulful musical presence, skillful technique, and scintillating arrangements. Since 1989, audiences on the East Coast USA have enjoyed tours and special performances from the Mark Adamy Band, a popular cadre of accomplished musicians who have thrilled listeners with original stylings fusing pop, rock, jazz, R&B, world, and spiritual music.
A former Boston resident, Mark has enjoyed popularity as a sought-after talent for special events, productions, and performances. Mark won honors including Entertainer of the Year and Boston Music award nominations. Now a resident of the greater New York City region, Mark has played venues small and large. Concert and tour credits span a wide range of styles. He has shared the stage with greats like Chaka Khan, James Brown, The Four Tops, John-Lee Hooker, Pieces of a Dream, Howard Hewitt, Phil Driscoll, Phil Keaggy, Roger Humphries, and many others. Mark lends his keyboard talents to Broadway productions (Aida, Fosse, Seussical) and has directed off-Broadway productions in NYC.
CD releases have featured talented artists such as Will Lee, David Sancious, Dave Mann, Manolo Badrena, Tony Vacca, Paul Adamy, Mark Ambrosino, Capathia Jenkins, Wayne-Scott Farley, and many fantastic others.
Live performances, television and radio broadcasts, and bookings throughout the USA include opening for Grammy winners Jon Secada and Lisa Fisher. Other tours include Harold Melvin (and the Bluenotes), Wendy Moten, and Howard Hewitt.
Mark’s concert credentials are extensive with acts such as the Coasters, the Cadillacs, Ink Spots, Jive Five, Silhouettes, Marvellettes, the Charelles, and guitarist Billy Davis. He has jammed with jazz artists such as Warren Hill, Makoto Ozone, Darren Lyons Group, and Lee Robinson at venues ranging from New York’s Russian Tea Room and Knitting Factory to Boston’s Symphony Hall. He’s also supported Walk for AIDS charity festival.
When not dazzling on stage, Mark Adamy Productions handles numerous new projects from cinema scores, video production, music beds, and CD/albums to producing and promoting other artist projects. Several projects have been met with acclaim, including his first solo recording Almost There, which received national airplay. His production expertise on the Real Silk Band’s Metamorphosis CD led to his receiving Pittsburgh Magazine’s “Excellence in the Arts” award for Best New Jazz Group. One of the CD’s primary composers, Mark gives international music lovers productions to savor along with instrumental performances that groove.
Mark continues to serve as a Music Director for NYC churches including St. Patrick’s RCC in Bedford, NY, where he had rendered worship music for many years. His heart for education in the arts leads him to teach at various schools including Dea Music and Art School and The Village Montessori School. Mark had taught eager students piano, voice, violin, and theatre. He approaches curriculum with passion and dedication to excellence, leveraging his stylistic magnitude while promoting cultural diversity. Mark is currently in the studio working on original film and popular music projects.
